Just a quick update for those of you that still happen to breeze past this blog on occasion. I’ve been spending a bunch of time doing things outside of fly fishing. Most of things have been mountain biking and hiking related. Very few of those things have been fly tying related.
That’s not to say that I haven’t wanted to sling some flies, it’s just that time and schedules and family and work and other obligations haven’t really allowed that to happen.
I’ve had to find other ways to satisfy my outdoor obsessions, one of which has been teaching my little girl how to ride a bike, which led to me getting a bike, which led to replacing leg day in the gym with leg day on local trails. It’s an absolute win in my book.
The good news is that once we finally survive this onslaught of rain (if we do), then I’ll be hitting the streams again real soon. No need to do that right now, as I’d imagine they’re blown out as fuck at this point, and my rate of success on blown out streams is nothing that I’d care to share.
It’s time to get that dry fly box filled back up and get after it.
