Random tidbits to get the week started.
Last week was crazy busy and I got no fishing in, and very little fly tying, in at all. It seems like the more I try to plan for those things, the less often they happen.
We finally got some much needed rain last week that I’m sure helped out the local streams. I wouldn’t know for sure, as I didn’t get to actually make it to one.
My mind has been on Pebble Mine a lot lately, and yes, it’s back in the news again. This administration has paved the way to make Pebble Mine a reality, despite everything that has been done to fight it. This is a serious issue that I hope you’re keeping up with. And while it doesn’t directly affect me, it’s an issue that could lead to many other decisions that directly affect me, if we let it happen.
Check out another great piece over at Hatch this week and make your voice heard on this.
I finally took the plunge and joined the Subaru family last week. I’m now the proud owner of a 2018 Subaru Crosstrek.
I had been eyeing this vehicle for about 2 years now and always loved the style and practicality of them. The 2018 Crosstrek is a totally new platform with some really impressive new features for the model year. I knew I wanted it, but I wanted to wait for the 2018 model.
My 2012 Ram truck was approaching 100,000 miles and it needed a ton of maintenance work on it. My local Subaru dealer had several on the lot that fit, so I decided to trade the Ram in while it still has some value.
So far, the Crosstrek is awesome and I’m totally digging it! This car will get my anywhere I need to go and it will do it in 30 mpg, AWD style. My truck was a 2wd and it often struggled in some remote locations that I took it to, and don’t even get me started on the gas mileage of a Hemi 5.7L V8.
Going from a crew cab Ram truck to the Crosstrek has taken a little getting used to, but I have a feeling that we’ll be getting along just fine.
Thanks for reading. Let’s go crush another week!
