Vacation is in full effect

News and Notes from

Our annual beach trip is here.

Ansley poses with a tuna at Murrell's InletI’m 3 days into our annual 8 day beach trip as I write this. It’s hot, crowded and there is very little time to actually relax. It’s the typical beach vacation I suppose.

But I’m not at work, which is good, and I’ve been able to get some stuff done while I’m here. I brought a small fly tying kit with me and mornings have been seeing some vice time. I’ve also been drafting out some upcoming posts for the blog that have been in my head for a week or so.

No fishing for me this week, as I didn’t try nearly hard enough to get something lined up with a local guide. But Ansley managed to net a big one as you can see in the photo. She always shows dad how it’s done.

All is well here as we continue to soak up some sun and get way off of our normal routines. I, and this blog, will be back to normal early next week. For now, I’m heading over to the Orvis Myrtle Beach store to at least talk about fly fishing.
