The Spotlight: 406 Fly Lines

The Spotlight - Cool fly fishing companies worth checking out

406 Fly Lines; Livingston, MT.

With the resurgence of fiberglass rods on the rise, it makes sense that more and more companies would start to release other products geared towards that resurgence. One such company is 406 Fly Lines, makers of fly lines specifically for fiberglass and slow action rods.

406 Fly Lines is a small family owned business started to give the older fiberglass and slow action rod user and the new glass rod owner an opportunity to use the fly lines originally designed “back in the day” for their classic rods. The tapers are based on some of the most popular vintage tapers tweaked with modern materials.

406 Fly Lines - Livingston, MTSounds pretty stellar, right? I think so too, which is why I wanted to spotlight these guys. 406 Fly Lines are made from 100% recycled materials and made right here in the USA. I can dig that. I can also dig their 100%, no questions asked guarantee on their products.

Their Vintage Series fly lines are available in both double taper and weight forward styles in 3-8 weights. Both lines are designed with a focus on accuracy and delicate, smooth presentation. This makes the lines ideal for small stream trout situations.

If you’re looking for something different, check out 406 Fly Lines and give one of their lines a try.

  1. I’ve got a 4-weight CGR that would probably love on of those lines!

I’ve been looking at the CGR rods and thinking about getting one. That might also be a good time to pick up a 406 line and try it out in the wild.
