It’s Spring and I’m taking a whooping

News and Notes from

Spring has started off in a haste. Tons of shit to do, projects to finish and very little fishing or tying happening these days.

Over the Winter, my wife and I decided that we were putting in a pool and building a deck in our backyard this Spring. Well, that time has come and it’s kicking my ass. The grading is done, the pool is installed and the construction of 2 decks has begun. These projects have left little time to do anything else. I love doing DIY projects, but projects this size can be a major drain.

Add to that getting our garden planted, doing the annual yard work for this time of year and wrapping up some major projects at work, I barely have time to eat and sleep.

On the fishing and tying front, I just got a huge stack of new materials in. Unfortunately, they’re still in the box they came in. I’m way behind on getting flies tied for Spring/Summer trips to the river. I’ve also slacked majorly on getting some blog posts up. It may stay that way for a few more weeks, as I really don’t have much to write about at the moment.

If all goes well, I’ll be lounging out on the deck and blogging by the pool soon. I hope all of you guys are out there slaying them in your favorite rivers. Hopefully I’ll be back to doing the same in due time.

I too have gear in a box, leering at me as a constant reminder of my “responsibilities.”
    Good luck!
