Journal: The urge to fish when you can’t fish

My thoughts on life, fly fishing and living.

It always happens. I want to fish most often when I can’t.

Maybe it’s just me, but why is the urge to want to go fishing always biggest when you can’t go?

It’s hard to get stream time these days, but it seems like those are the days when I want to go the most. The hustle of life makes you appreciate the times you get away from it, and for me, that means fly fishing on some local waters.

And on days when I know I can’t go fishing, it seems like the urge to go fishing is never stronger. Schedules don’t allow it, work gets in the way, or some other plans have already been made.

Such is life I suppose. But as long as the urge is there, I’ll always continue to find ways to fill it.
