A reset of sorts

I must say, life has been pretty hectic lately. Those times come and go for everyone I suppose.

I haven’t fished in a few months, I’ve barely tied any flies and I’ve pretty much lived in work, more work and a lot more work.

I woke up yesterday and realized that things need to change. I miss fishing, I miss the outdoors and I miss the simple life. The rut I am in is of my own doing, and I don’t blame anyone for it. I blame myself for letting it get to this point. I blame myself for taking on more than I can do, thinking it wouldn’t be that difficult.

Those days are over.

It’s time to get back to what makes me happy. It’s time to do things differently and take it easy. I’m in another round of changes in life, but this time, the changes are for me, and us, and the family.

Maybe blogging more is on that list of changes. But more importantly, fishing more and enjoying life are at the top of that list. We all need something that makes us tick; something that helps make life more enjoyable. Those things are different for us all, but all of us have them.

Whatever you do that makes you happy, keep it doing it and don’t stop doing it. I did that, and it wasn’t much fun. It’s time to reset and get back to those roots.
