The Spotlight: Flyvines

The Spotlight - Cool fly fishing companies worth checking out

Cool, awesome recycled fly line accessories.

Flyvines - Recycled Fly Line BraceletsEvery now and then, somebody in the fly fishing industry comes along and introduces a new product that spawns a small little company doing something cool. Flyvines is certainly one of those companies.

Flyvines takes your old, used fly fishing lines and turns them into really cool hand-braided accessories. It’s a simple idea and a great way to recycle fly lines. They currently offer laynards, bracelets, eyewear retainers and other one off accessories.

Based out of Missoula, Montana, each product is hand-braided, using a pattern they developed over long Montana winters and while enduring muddy run-offs. As such, each piece is one-of-a-kind. It’s a pretty cool idea and I’m always impressed when I see small companies, doing something a little different, while helping to push the fly fishing industry forward.

Check out the Flyvines website to get info on how you can send in your old fly line. When you send them a line to recycle, they will send you a hand-made product in return to show their appreciation.

You can also check out Flyvines over on their Facebook page or by following their Twitter account.
