Fly Tying: Schroeder’s Parachute Hopper

Fly tying tutorials and patterns from

Hammer Creek Fly Fishing recently posted up a new video showing how to tieĀ Schroeder’s Parachute Hopper.

It’s a cool pattern that that combines the style and feel of a dry fly with the look of a hopper. This pattern just looks super buggy and would be great for a Summer attractor/searching pattern on my local waters. I’ve never seen legs created with pheasant tail, which happens with this pattern, but it’s a great idea, and could be used for several other hopper patterns as well.

Check out the pattern:

Hammer Creek has some awesome tying videos, so be sure to check out the website or head over to the YouTube channel and get some fly tying goodness.
