Tying the davy knot

A simple, tough knot for tying your fly to your tippet.

I’ll be honest, the davy knot is a knot that I was unfamiliar with until recently. When tying my fly to my tippet or leader, I’ve always used the trusty ol’ clinch knot (or improved clinch knot as you may know it).

When I found the davy knot, I gave it a try to see if it was better, stronger, faster, etc. So far, I’m digging it and it is certainly faster. As for strength, that remains to be seen, but so far so good on that front as well.

Ever heard of the davy knot? Well today is your lucky day…..
