Local Report: Week of 12/15/2013

Stocking levels are still strong.

Another awesome week of stocking took place this week in some of our local waters, with a total of 25,480 trout being stocked between Monday and Thursday of this week by the South Carolina DNR.

Pleasant Ridge County Park, Table Rock State Park, the South Saluda, the Big Eastatoee, the Chauga, the Chattooga, and the East Fork of the Chattooga RiverĀ were all stocked during this week.

We have also had some odd weather patterns over the last several days but everything seems to be leveling out now to just sunny and cold, with morning temperatures in the low 20’s. Rain was pretty steady earlier in the week and it’s coming back on Saturday with a 100% chance and rainfall expected around 1″.

I doubt very few, if any others, will be out on the local streams and rivers this weekend, but Sunday should be a really good time to go sling some flies.
